I’m excited to report that I just received a fourth award this year for my writing.
The latest was an APEX 2017 Award of Excellence for an article I wrote for the American Animal Hospital Association’s Trends magazine, under the direction of Editor Ben Williams. The awards recognize exceptional entries in each of the individual categories. My article was in category 71, “how-to” writing.
The 29th annual APEX awards program recognizes excellence in publishing by professional communicators. The awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.
My earlier honors this year were silver and bronze regional Azbee awards for Trends magazine. The silver honor was for “Going to New Heights, Widths, and Depths” and the bronze honor was for “Digital Dilemma.”
The Azbees, awarded by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE), honor the best in business-to-business media, recognizing outstanding work by B2B, trade, association and professional publications. One of the most competitive award programs for trade media, the Azbees highlight editorial, online and design excellence within magazines, newsletters and digital media. Regional winners were announced at regional banquets across the United States in April and early May of 2017.
The first award I received this year was from the Dog Writers Association of America. Another article I wrote for Trends earned the national honor of the Maxwell Medallion.
